Member Companies
Insurers who write, on a direct basis, basic property or multi-peril policies for 1-4 family dwellings in the eligible counties of Ohio are required to become members of the Ohio Mine Subsidence Insurance Underwriting Association and offer this coverage to all eligible applicants.

Quarterly Reporting
All member companies who are licensed to write Property & Casualty business in the state of Ohio must report their OMSIUA premiums and policy counts on a quarterly basis each year. The data is to be reported no later than 45 days after the end of each quarter and must be submitted even if the company is not actively writing premiums in Ohio.

Self-Audit
The Ohio Mine Subsidence Insurance Underwriting Association (OMSIUA) self-audit is focused on the internal member company systems in place, the overall compliance with state insurance law and with the Bulletins published by OMSIUA, as well as, individual premium files. The requirement of a self-audit is in accordance with the Ohio Insurance Code and the Reinsurance Agreement. Each member company will be notified when a self-audit must be conducted.
